Saturday Aug 9, The 7th Annual Operation SOS Ride
Thank you to all who participated in the 7th annual Operation SOS Ride. It was a great day for riding and through your generous support we were able to raise more than $6000 to continue to Support Our Soldiers who are deployed.
Congratulations to Jon Shields, the winner of the Military Commemorative Rifle! Jon was on reserve duty during the event, but his proud father was able to claim his prize for him!
A special thanks to the Colt Wilbur Band for providing great music for our event, the Twisted Angels for the added fun of a bike wash this year, and Suquehanna Valley Harley-Davidson for their unparralelled ongoing support of all our efforts! The Guardian Knights could not continue to do what we do without the ongoing support of people like this and the community

The Collin 1000 Iron Butt Run
Thanks to everyone who helped make the 2014 Run a great success!
This year's run was completed in just under 21.5 hours with 33 bikes starting out and 32 completing the run under their own power. Unfortunately 1 bike had to come home on the trailer due to mechanical problems. As the donations continue to come in, we are very near our goal of $10,000 and expect to reach it soon. Watch for the announcement of our destination for 2015.

All Proceeds Benefit THON / 4 Diamonds Fund in their ongoing battle against pediatric cancer.
Because Collin is able to receive his ongoing treatment and checkups locally we wanted to know what the current needs were. In speaking with Collin's family regarding this year's event, and going forward, we asked how the money raised would best be used. They indicated that one of their most important helps thoughout this journey has been Penn State's THON organization who have provided treatment at no cost, as well as facilities and research for pediatric cancer. It is their wish that they could pay it forward by supporting THON, who will see that other deserving families get the support that they have and are receiving. For that reason, the proceeds from this year's Collin 1000 Run, and going forward, will be donated to THON in Collin's name to help them continue the work that has meant so much to Collin and so many families like his. You can find out more about THON at http://thon.org.
Are you willing to help?
We are looking for sponsors for this event. You can give a flat amount (no amount is too big or too small) or you can pledge an amount per mile (i.e. 1 penny /mile = $10, 10 cents a mile = $100). All riders are asked to find a minimum of $50 in sponsorship for the run. There is no registration fee.
Thanks to all who made the 2013 run another success. We have raised over $3000 to go the THON in Collin's name. We completed the 1000+ mile journey in 21 hrs. and 20 min. with 20 bikes.
Thanks to all who made this run a success

(note Collin 1000 in memo section) to our address on the bottom of the page, drop off a donation at Susquehanna Valley H-D, or click the donate button and give a gift online. All donations given to the Collin 1000 will be donated to THON in Collin's name.
Operation SOS Shipment 2013
On Thursday 1/31 The Guardian Knights and other supporters met to package and ship care packages filled with cookies and other homemade treats as well as toiletries and hygiene items. This was by far our largest single shipment to date. 327 boxes went out to PA National Guard soldiers deployed to Afghanistan and other places in the middle east. We are already starting to receive feedback from some recipients of packages and they are of course a big hit. Operation SOS (Support Our Soldiers) is an ongoing project of the GKMC, begun to specifically support PANG soldiers who are deployed overseas. It would be impossible to continue this program without the support of the community and one of our sponsors Susquehanna Valley Harley-Davidson. This year's Operation SOS Ride/Event will be held on Saturday 8/10/2013. Please set the date aside and plan to come out and help us continue to support our local troops while they are in harm's way.
Here are some of the messages that we have received so far regarding this shipment.

Operation SOS The Guardian Knights MC has mounted a campaign to provide needed/wanted items to our PA troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Named Operation SOS (support our soldiers), the Campaign kicked off in 2008 and includes collecting donations at various local events throughout the riding season and culminating in our Operation SOS ride in August of each year. You can view photos/videos of our past rides on our Gallery page. Operation SOS has been able to provide support to hundreds of PA National Guard and Reserve Troops over the past several years
To date nearly $16,000 has been raised and spent to assist in this cause. We are currently servicing over 100 individual soldiers and marines and are looking forward to continuing to do so for as long as necessary.
All proceeds are used to purchase and ship requested items and letters to our troops on the ground. Our mission is to provide a touch of home to these home-town troops while they are away from us and their families. Operation SOS is an ongoing project of the Guardian Knights MC and will continue as long as there is community support and PA Troops in harms way.
Check out the video of some of the SOS packages being distributed in Iraq. This is what it's really all about!
