First Annual New Years Run

The Knights started the new year with their first annual New Years Day Run. There was snow on the ground, flurries in the air, and temps in the mid 30s, but that didn't stop the heartiest of our group from shining up their bikes and taking a tour of the Harrisburg area on New years day. More...

Cookies - Cookies Everywhere!

cookie driveThe cookies have started to arrive and our soldiers are starting to send us feedback on their arrival.

Here is what SMSgt Godin of the 809 Red Horse Squadron, stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan had to say:

"Thanks for the great package of home-made cookies and candy and that really nice Harley Calendar. I've been sharing the cookies and everybody has complimented them. The Harley Calendar I'm keeping for myself.

I also want to thank Elizabeith Kussmieh (spelling?) for the wonderful handwritten card and poem. It was very nice and heartfelt. Please let here know one of us old guys got a little choked up reading it."

Here is a message from SFC Perkins at FOB Garry Owen in Iraq.

"Guys we just received the boxes last night on a CH-47, I wanted to tell you thanks from the Outlaw Refuel team at Garry Owen. You guys are F$%^ing amazing. My god the cookies were so fresh and so damn good, I wish I could make you guys understand how that made us feel. Please pass this on."

See more on our News page.

We would also like to give a special Thank you to Giant Foods on Linglestown Road for the use of their communtiy center, Susquehanna Valley Harley-Davidson for calendars, postcards and a signed flag, The students of Milton Hershey School for the hand made greeting cards and of course the various groups and individuals who baked all of the treats (you all know who you are). This effort was a success because of you.

Operation SOS (Support our Soldiers)

The Guardian Knights MC has mounted a campaign to provide needed/wanted items to our PA troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

sos logoNamed Operation SOS (support our soldiers), the Campaign kicked off in 2008 and includes collecting donations at various local events throughout the riding season and culminated in our Operation SOS ride in August.

To date nearly $6000 has been raised and spent to assist in this cause. We are currently servicing 51 individual soldiers and marines and are looking forward to continuing to do so for as long as necessary.

All proceeds are used to purchase and ship requested items and letters to our troops on the ground. Our mission is to provide a touch of home to these home-town troops while they are away from us and their families. Operation SOS is an ongoing project of the Guardian Knights MC and will continue as long as there is community support and PA Troops in harms way.

Check out the video of some of the SOS packages being distributed in Iraq. This is what it's really all about!
